ANONYM
"And yet, as we flipped through these pieces like the pages of an album, we were moved, sometimes overwhelmed, by this gestural outburst, these cries of alarm, these outbursts of life, with a few names emerging, notably that of choreographer Brett Fukuda, whose already rich career launches the impressive Marin Delavaud (dancer shown below), with his biting expressivity, in Anonym, a desperate struggle against the demons of addiction."

In her solo work Anonym, Fukuda confronts the invisible landscape of addiction and mental health struggles through an intimate blend of movement and spoken word. Merging her original text with a reconstructed version of Schubert's "Der Neugierige," she creates a raw portrait of internal conflict, in collaboration with the imagery of painter Silvère Jarrosson. The piece cycles between moments of resistance and surrender, as Fukuda peels back the layers of stigma surrounding addiction to reveal a universal human experience - the continuous battle between self-improvement and self-destructive patterns. Through this vulnerable exploration, she invites audiences to empathetically witness the often hidden nature of psychological pain and the complex journey toward healing.
